1 Corinthians 6:15-20

Dear Brethren.

Christians face many temptations. There are times when temptations do not present a great challenge to the Christian. Yet, there are other times when a Christian can feel overwhelmed by the temptation standing before him.

One area of temptations which has presented a great challenge for many Christians is the area of sexual sins. All things being equal, it is hard to imagine a Christian giving into sexual sins. However, far too often, Christians have allowed themselves to be swept away by the emotions and feelings associated with sexual sins.

To put it simply, if you are married to a person, then you have the right and freedom to enjoy sexual relations with that person. Any other sexual activity outside of that marriage is a sin against God and your own body. If you are tempted to engage in sexual behavior or sexual activity with anyone other than your spouse (assuming you are married), then you must run away from the temptation. If you are not married, then sexual activity is forbidden by God's word. Do whatever is necessary to avoid engaging in sinful sexual activity. Doing so will help save your soul from eternal punishment.

Here is 1 Corinthians 6:15-20 presented for your consideration.

1 Corinthians 6:15-20

15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not!

16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.”

17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

In Love,

John Duvall
