Psalms 34:1-7

Dear Brethren:

Look deep within your life and consider the many wonderful blessings with which God has blessed you. You may be blessed with good health, a wonderful family, a strong church, an unwavering faith, etc. As a Christian, your greatest blessing is the salvation of your soul. I firmly believe that every Christian has many blessings for which he should be grateful.

Considering how great the Lord has blessed you and I, how often do we sing the praises of God? We should continually praise the Lord and exalt His holy name, never being ashamed. Let us tell other people about the greatness of God. Let us tell them of His mercy and His grace. Let us be like David and "bless the Lord at all times."

Here is Psalms 34:1-7 presented for your consideration.

Psalms 34:1-7

1 I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2 My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad.

3 Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.

4 I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.

5 They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed.

6 This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles.

7 The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.

1 Corinthians 6:15-20

Dear Brethren.

Christians face many temptations. There are times when temptations do not present a great challenge to the Christian. Yet, there are other times when a Christian can feel overwhelmed by the temptation standing before him.

One area of temptations which has presented a great challenge for many Christians is the area of sexual sins. All things being equal, it is hard to imagine a Christian giving into sexual sins. However, far too often, Christians have allowed themselves to be swept away by the emotions and feelings associated with sexual sins.

To put it simply, if you are married to a person, then you have the right and freedom to enjoy sexual relations with that person. Any other sexual activity outside of that marriage is a sin against God and your own body. If you are tempted to engage in sexual behavior or sexual activity with anyone other than your spouse (assuming you are married), then you must run away from the temptation. If you are not married, then sexual activity is forbidden by God's word. Do whatever is necessary to avoid engaging in sinful sexual activity. Doing so will help save your soul from eternal punishment.

Here is 1 Corinthians 6:15-20 presented for your consideration.

1 Corinthians 6:15-20

15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not!

16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.”

17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Luke 6:46-49

Dear Brethren,

Good Morning!

Obedience is a simple concept. Parents begin teaching obedience to their children at a very early age. As the children grow, parents continue to instill within their children the concept of obedience. While the concept of obedience remains the same, the degree of complication increases as the child grows. While older children may understand the concept of obedience, they face greater obstacles that would challenge their willingness to obey.

One of the many reasons why parents teach their children obedience is in hopes that the children will grow up to obey God. At this point within children's lives, the importance of obedience is at its greatest. It is not enough to simply profess a belief in the Lord; a person must do what the Lord has taught. Jesus said, “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?"

Consider your own life. How great is your obedience to the Lord? Examine your life to make certain that you have a solid foundation of obedience, always following the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Honor the Lord Jesus by following His standard of right and wrong, found only within the Bible.

Here is Luke 6:46-49 presented for your consideration.

Luke 6:46-49

46 “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?

47 Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like:

48 He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.

49 But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”

Psalms 101:1-4

Dear Brethren,

Good Afternoon!

Many people have good intentions; they set out to accomplish something good. Good intentions are beneficial as long as we follow through with the good actions.

David was a man of good intentions; intentions which we should mimic. Consider David's good intentions.
  • David said that he would "sing of mercy and justice," singing praises to the Lord.
  • David said that he would "behave wisely in a perfect way."
  • David also decided to "set nothing wicked before" his eyes."
  • David hated the "work of those who fall away."
While David had his challenges within his life, he was a man who followed through with his good intentions. Let us establish within our lives intentions to serve the Lord and to follow His ways.

Here is Psalms 101:1-4 presented for your consideration.

Psalms 101:1-4

1 I will sing of mercy and justice; To You, O LORD, I will sing praises.

2 I will behave wisely in a perfect way. Oh, when will You come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

3 I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me.

4 A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know wickedness.

In Love,
